Movies and books paint a dark picture of the looming zombie apocalypse, but what if they have it all wrong? What if living in an apocalyptic wasteland isn’t as lonely as it appears?

When the undead walk the earth and we are all left to fend for ourselves as the human race slowly diminishes, we’re going to have a lot of free time on our hands. Chances are if you’re reading this you spend a lot of your free time on the internet. So, if the electricity is still on in your neighbourhood or your phone company hasn’t been obliterated, you’re probably going to be on the internet often. And where do you spend a lot of time when you’re on the internet? Social networks.

This thought makes me believe the following: Twitter is going to be the centre of all internet activity once the zombie apocalypse begins. You’ll be able to check it and update it quickly, so it’s perfect for when you’re on the run from hordes of the undead. It wouldn’t surprise me if the creators of Twitter had this scenario in mind when they came up with the idea for the site…

Twitter will allow you to keep up to date with how your family and friends are faring against the zombies, but most importantly you’ll be able to see how your favourite celebrities are going. You’ll be able to see which celebrities are a zombie and which aren’t a zombie, as well as how they are going about surviving.
